AK-47, The World's Rifle
Hvad er en AK-47?
The AK-47 (Avtomat Kalashnikova, model of 1947) is the most produced firearm in human history. Over 100 million AK-pattern rifles have been built since Mikhail Kalashnikov's design was adopted by the Soviet Army in 1949, and its silhouette is recognized on every continent. Gas-operated, chambered in 7.62×39mm, and famously reliable in mud, sand, and snow, the AK-47 earned its reputation by simply refusing to quit. Now you can fire one in true full-auto at Adrenaline Mountain's outdoor shooting range in the Mojave Desert, 40 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip with a free hotel shuttle.

Adopted by the Soviet Army in 1949, the AK-47 and its successors armed not just the USSR but half the world. It became the standard rifle of more than 50 national armies and the most copied firearm design ever, produced under license and without it, from Eastern Europe to Asia. Its profile ended up on flags, murals, and album covers; no other machine has that kind of cultural footprint.
In American pop culture the AK is everywhere, Nicolas Cage's monologue in Lord of War called it "the real weapon of mass destruction," and it has appeared in essentially every modern war film and shooter franchise. Most Americans have seen thousands of AK-47s on screen and never touched one.
The first thing you notice is the weight of the round. The AK fires 7.62×39mm, a noticeably heavier bullet than the 5.56 NATO in an M4, and every shot delivers a deep, percussive thump you feel in your shoulder and chest. In full-auto, the AK settles into its famous cadence: slower than an MP5, more deliberate than an M249, around ten rounds per second of pure mechanical rhythm.
Out on the open Mojave Desert range, the muzzle report rolls across the valley floor instead of slapping back at you off concrete walls. Your Range Safety Officer coaches you into short, controlled bursts (three to five rounds) and by your second burst you'll be ringing steel downrange and grinning.
When the bolt locks back on an empty magazine and the desert goes quiet, you'll understand why this rifle has fascinated people for 75 years.

AK-47, Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to shoot an AK-47 in Las Vegas?+
The AK-47 is included as a pick in any shooting package, choose it as one of your 3 guns ($160) or 6 guns ($265). A standard run is 20 rounds of 7.62×39mm full-auto, and you can add more rounds on-site.
Is the AK-47 full-auto at Adrenaline Mountain?+
Yes. You fire the AK-47 in true full-auto on our outdoor range, with your Range Safety Officer coaching you through short, controlled bursts. Most indoor Vegas ranges limit you to semi-auto or short magazine restrictions.
Is the AK-47 hard to control for beginners?+
The AK has more recoil than the M4 because it fires the heavier 7.62×39mm round, but its slower ~600 rounds-per-minute cyclic rate makes the rhythm easy to manage. First-timers do great with RSO coaching.
Can I shoot the AK-47 and the M4 in the same session?+
Absolutely, the AK-47 vs M4 head-to-head is one of our most popular combinations. Pick both in a 3-Gun or 6-Gun package and feel the difference between the two most famous rifles on earth.
