M-60 "The Hog" 机枪

The M60 entered service in 1957, combining design elements from the German MG 42 and FG 42 of World War II. It was built to replace multiple weapons in the U.S. arsenal with a single, versatile platform that could be carried by one soldier, mounted on vehicles, or used from fixed positions. By the time the Vietnam War escalated in the 1960s, the M60 was everywhere, in the hands of infantry, on helicopter door mounts, and atop armored vehicles.
