Can-Am Maverick UTV kicking up dust on private Mojave Desert trails near Las Vegas

Dune Buggy in Las Vegas? Here's the Honest Version

We Are Not a Dune Buggy Company

Adrenaline Mountain does not own or rent dune buggies, and we are not Sun Buggy. We also do not run Polaris RZRs, Honda Talons, quads or ATVs. Saying that plainly up front saves everyone a phone call.

What we do run is a fleet of Can-Am Maverick X3 UTVs on 400 acres of private Mojave Desert, 40 minutes south of the Strip. If the picture in your head is an open-cage machine throwing a rooster tail of dust across the desert with you behind the wheel, that is exactly the experience — just built this decade instead of in 1968.

Same Idea, 50 Years Apart

The Can-Am Maverick Is What a Dune Buggy Grew Into

The original dune buggy was a Volkswagen Beetle floorpan with the body cut away and a fibreglass shell dropped on top. Light, loud, brilliant in soft sand, and almost entirely without safety equipment.

A modern side-by-side keeps the fun and fixes the rest: a full roll cage over both seats, three-point belts, bucket seats, long-travel suspension and a turbocharged engine, plus air-pumper helmets that feed you filtered air and an intercom so you can actually talk to the person next to you.

The other practical difference is terrain. A buggy is a sand machine. Our park is Mojave Desert — rock, gravel, wash beds, climbs and canyon switchbacks — where a 72-inch-wide Maverick has the stance and travel to be quick and stable, and a buggy would be out of its element.

What the Day Looks Like

Free Shuttle, Private Land, You Drive

The free shuttle collects you from your Strip or Downtown hotel — six departures a day, about 40 minutes each way, no rental car and no desert navigation. At the park you check in, get a helmet and intercom fitted, and take a safety briefing before your guide leads the group out.

You get 60 minutes of trail time on land nobody else is riding that day, with a driver swap halfway so both people in the vehicle get to drive. Budget 3 to 4 hours door to door. Add machine gun shooting or a monster truck drive on the same visit — it is all one property.

The side-by-side UTV.

A classic dune buggy was a stripped VW chassis with a fibreglass shell built for soft sand; a Can-Am Maverick X3 does the same job with long-travel suspension, a roll cage, three-point belts and far more power, and it handles rock, gravel and hardpack as well as sand.

Are there sand dunes near Las Vegas?

There are dune areas in southern Nevada, but our park is not one of them.

Adrenaline Mountain is 400 private acres of Mojave Desert terrain about 40 minutes south of the Strip, with canyon switchbacks, washes, climbs and open desert flats rather than soft sand.

Do you run Polaris RZRs?

No.

Our fleet is 100% Can-Am Maverick. We tested Polaris RZR, Honda Talon and several other brands on this terrain and they did not hold up, so we standardised on the one that did.

Can I drive it myself, or is it a passenger ride?

You drive.

Every guest 16 or older with a valid driver's license can take the wheel, and groups swap drivers at the halfway point so everyone gets a turn. Passengers must be at least 5 years old.

How much does it cost?

The two-seat Can-Am Maverick is $329, the four-seat Maverick is $529, and the Jeep Wrangler is $379.
